Friday 14th - Saturday 22nd June 2019

The final read-through of our June production is just days away, with auditions closely following at the weekend!  Don't miss your chance to get involved.

Play readings are designed to be a low pressure environment for people to acquaint themselves with the production and characters. Anyone is welcome, whether you intend to audition later or would rather help backstage and there is no pressure to read if you would prefer only to listen.

We recently posted Character Briefs on Facebook.  Audition pieces are available upon request.

The stage version of the hit film. Can you handle the truth?

Two US Marines are charged with being complicit in the death of a fellow squadron member; it falls to the callow Daniel Kaffee to defend the two men.

At first it seems like an open and shut case, but when the accused men refuse to accept his bargaining plea, frustrations reveal they were only following orders. As he delves deeper it becomes clear that moral superiority, rank, and conscience all factor in to paint a very different sequence of events. Bringing this revelation to light is one thing but proving is quite another, especially when up against the fierce loyalty of long standing Marines.

Our 60th Annual General Meeting

Tuesday 9th April 2019 - 7:30pm

The 60th AGM of the Playhouse Company is to be held on Tuesday 9th April 2019.  The AGM is an opportunity to look back on the last 12 months, discuss topics raised and to elect your committee.

There will be a number of vacancies on the committee this year - details to be confirmed shortly.  Generally, no specific experience is required: we value having a diverse committee.  Please do consider standing and putting yourself forward for nomination - don’t be shy!  If you would consider standing but are unsure, there is plenty of time to chat with any of our current friendly committee members who can give you a better idea of what the role would entail.  Please contact Ben Lowater (Secretary) if you wish to put yourself forward.

Remember: you must be a current member to attend, so if your membership has lapsed you will be required to pay your membership fee at the door.
