Season's Greetings
Directed by Malcolm Ball

Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th & Tuesday 7th to Saturday 11th November 2017

We Need You!

With just days until opening night we'll be needing all the help we can get from you, our ever-dedicated members to ensure a smooth get-in and production run.

Get-in large_seasons_greetings_2017_get-in.jpg
It is all-hands-on-deck right now as we begin fitting the set to the stage. Whether you enjoy building and woodwork, or could help with setting up props and moving things around, your help would be appreciated. Please do support us at this vital stage if you can.
Front of House
As it stands we still have Front of House slots to fill for all 7 production dates, so we really do need your help. Front of House duties are an excellent way to meet other members whilst making a valuable contribution without which the show simply can't go on. Training is provided and tasks include: running the bar, serving coffee and stewardship roles. Please sign up through SignUpGenius if you are able.

If you can help in any of these areas, please get in touch ASAP. Dylan Thomas as Stage Manager can advise on the Get-in schedule, and Marie Marriott is coordinating Front of House. As always, you can reply to this E-mail or get in touch through our website.

The Memory of Water

The Memory of Water
Directed by Liz Maisey

Wednesday 7th to Saturday 10th March 2018

Winner of the Olivier Award for best comedy. Made into a film featuring Julie Walters and a West End
production starred Alison Steadman. Performed worldwide.

Set in the mid 1990’s, on the eve of their mother’s funeral three sisters meet and reveal the conflicts of the past and its grip on the present. This is a wonderfully funny and deeply-felt play; a tragi-comedy that will have you laughing and crying as all good theatre should.

"Blessedly and mercurially funny.. Shelagh Stephenson combines a flair for witty dialogue with a relish for the dynamics of theatre … a mistress of comic anguish"

READING - Wednesday 15th November

Our first reading was very successful. It was great to see many of the usual faces! Don't worry if you missed it - there is another opportunity to join us on Wednesday 15th November.
Play readings are designed to be a low pressure environment for people to acquaint themselves with the production and characters. Anyone is welcome and there is no pressure to read if you would prefer only to listen in.

The action takes place in Vi’s bedroom, in a bungalow, near the coast. It’s snowing.

Vi 40’s, vivacious, loves men, only converses with Mary.
Mary 39, middle daughter, a doctor, single, she and Mike are lovers.
Teresa 40’s + the eldest daughter, stayed close to home and cared for Vi when needed.
Catherine 33, the youngest, going on 18! Smokes pot.
Mike 40+ (flexible), a TV personality doctor married with 3 children.
Frank 40+ (flexible), married to Teresa they run a health food company together. Solid and reliable.

Rehearsals: Monday's, Wednesday's & Thursday's @ 7:30 pm.
Expected start date: 4th Dec 2017 - TBC

We are almost ready to announce the remainder of next years productions (and possibly more...), so stay tuned for next months newsletter. We are particularly excited about our plans for next November: it's a killer!
